YOU
ARE NOW THE OWNER OF THE BEST SUPER-JET TRIM SYSTEM ON THE MARKET
|
| STEP 1: | Remove ride plate and pump assembly |
| STEP 2: | Remove battery and battery box |
| STEP 3: | Remove 4 bolts from motor mounts (mount to hull bolts) on right
side of ski (under carbs) |
| STEP 4: | Remove fuel tank, this will allow smooth routing of cable later on |
| STEP 5: | Remove left handle grip and install supplied hydraulic lever assembly. Re-install handle grip. It is necessary to turn switch assembly (start button now on the bottom) depending on which type of handle bar is being used. |
| STEP 6: | Thread black hydraulic hose with fitting into hydraulic lever and tighten 8mm fitting. |
| STEP 7: | Run
hydraulic hose down through hand-pole and into engine compartment. (Be sure to reseal all cable grommets as to prevent water leaks) |
| STEP 8: | With
supplied extension drill, carefully drill through hull from rear to
front, starting from just left of center (when looking at
rear of ski) and drill as straight as possible through to engine compartment. Now insert opposite end of drill (female thread) through to engine compartment, as it will be used to pull cable through from front to rear. |
| STEP 9: | Thread
longest end of cable into drill end and pull cable through hull until
it protrudes approx 12” past foot tray. First install 3/8” stainless flat washer then install white clip onto cable groove. (small groove on cable housing end) |
| STEP 10: | Bring
washer and clip together and apply vast amount of silicone to front of
washer and pull cable through from engine compartment until it can go no further. At this point install split-collet onto cable and while keeping some forward pressure on the cable, tighten split-collet with small Allen wrench, firmly against hull. This prevents the cable from moving to the rear. Apply silicone to hull/split-collet area to prevent water leakage! |
| STEP 11: | Attach hydraulic mechanism to mounting plate and tighten 33mm nut securely. Now slip cable through pinch clamp, remove shoulder bolt and rod-end and thread rod-end onto cable. Replace shoulder bolt through rod-end and apply red locktite to threads, then reattach to hydraulic mech. |
| STEP 12: | Remove hydraulic hose nut and ferrule from actuator. Place nut then ferrule over hose and place hose into hole and thread nut back into actuator. Tighten 8mm nut. (not too tight, it is only soft aluminum and may strip or cross thread easily) |
| STEP 13: | ADDING
HYDRAULIC FLUID: Remove bleed screws from lever and actuator. Install barb fittings onto clear line supplied. Place one line on syringe and suck oil from bottle until almost full. Thread fitting on end of syringe into actuator & 2nd clear line & barb fitting into lever and slightly tighten both with 8mm wrench. Use small bottle to catch fluid that will come out of lever bleed hose. Start bleeding process by pushing syringe slow and steady. Once fluid begins to seep constant rate, stop and remove barb fitting and hose on lever and replace bleeder screw. *** don’t tighten, 2 or 3 threads from bottoming *** Push a small amount of fluid thru to ensure no air is trapped and tighten bleed screw. Remove syringe and barb fitting from actuator and install bleeder plug. Bleeding process is complete! |
| STEP 14: | Install pump and ride plate assemblies along with venturi, trim ring & steering nozzle |
| STEP 15: | Install supplied rod-end (thread onto end of cable at rear of ski) and attach to trim ring |
| STEP 16: | ADJUSTING:
Slide cable forward or back in split clamp (located on mounting plate) until desired steering nozzle (relaxed position) is achieved and minor adjustments can be made later if required. Tighten two 8mm pinch bolts to secure cable. |
| STEP 17: | Install
assembly on to engine mounts, use blue loctite to secure 4 engine bolts
and tighten. NOTE: Be sure hydraulic hose is secured and away from any hot or sharp objects. |
| STEP 18: | Install battery box and battery. |
| STEP 19: | Give lever a few pulls and check operation, visually inspect all fittings for leaks. |
